Diversity

Some say the world would be a better place if everyone was the same religion. Others say the world would be a better place if religion didn’t exist altogether. But does it really makes a difference? As someone that was raised Catholic but now embraces all religions and stands by none my perspective is that it makes no difference. The way you live your life is more important then the title you give yourself. What it comes down to is following a positive path, whatever it may be, that brings out the best in you- and what brings out the best in you won’t necessarily in others.

Many argue that the world is a worse place as a result of religion.. but there would probably be just as many problems in the world if religion weren’t to exist as there are with religion existing. The amount of people that have reformed, done good & found meaning in life because of religion..If it wasn’t to exist some of that would be taken away. A popular argument against religion is to make an example of the wrong doings done in the name of religion..but this isn’t necessarily religion being the problem but people manipulating religion to justify their bad actions and so it is man kind that’s the issue not religion.

Others think the world is a worse place because not everyone follows a particular belief ie- not everything is Catholic or not everyone is Muslim or not everyone is an Atheist.. but the world is made up of people each unique to themselves&inflicting beliefs some find strengthening on everyone would cause the world to be made up of frustrated people all having to follow something that doesn’t necessarily give their individual character meaning or sense.

Ultimately it’s better to live in variation then uniformity and let people play to their unique character and strengths then to make everyone the same, but this need by some for everyone to be the same has caused many to inflict their beliefs upon others without giving them the right to think for themselves which has caused people, especially in my generation, to be born into a religion they don’t understand or practice yet spend their whole lives calling them that.

But why? Why do we have to be something? Why can’t we be nothing? No matter what religion you are or how you try to distinguish your religion from the next.. we are all just people trying our best to live decently and happily …and that’s what it comes down to, just living a life that brings you happiness without causing harm to others and so in that sense no matter what religion you label yourself we are all the same, we are all human beings, we are all equals,we are all brothers&sisters and although practiced differently we share the same sort of aim.

That’s why I choose to be nothing, I choose to live free without the labels and divisions that automatically cause separations between people.. and instead want to embrace parts of all ways of life and am just doing my best to be an ok person. However i understand everyones gotta do whatever floats their boat and this may not necessarily be it. I do feel a need to explain my view however and that you don’t have to be something if it doesn’t make sense to you.. It’s ok to be nothing.. It’s ok to be whoever you want to be.You only get one life so follow what bring you happiness and makes you the best person you can be.

At the end of the day religion doesn’t define character or superiority. There’s no use in following/ labelling yourself a religion if actions carried out dont match. Religion means nothing if your behaviour to others isn’t good because at the end of the day your beliefs don’t make you a better person, your behaviour does and as i said at the start the way you live your life and treat others is more important then the titles you give yourself.

To sum it up, if a religion doesn’t speak to you don’t feel like it has to… Or if a religion does speak to you don’t feel like it should to everyone because regardless of religion and race we are all human and should stand up for humanity and this world we share together. Be true to yourself and allow others to be true to themselves and let’s just all live doing and believing what makes us happy. Live and let live with an open mind. Peace

Path To Happiness

There is no “one shoe fits all”, no one path that guarantees success, happiness&meaning in life to all. Happiness is gained differently for each person. What gives one person happiness in their religion, way of life, sexuality, job won’t do for another. If happiness isn’t gained from following oneway, find your own way&stick two fingers up at anyone that judges your way of life. Being yourself can be hard but by realising that by being anything but yourself all you attract is phoney wastes of space makes it a lot easier to not care.

As John Lennon once said “When I went to school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment,I told them they didn’t understand life” What it comes down to is doing what makes you happy. Do what you gotta do even if you get judged. It’s your life and only you have to live it- live the life you love and love the life you live as they say. When you don’t care for others judgements you set yourself free and stop living a life to impress others or fit into society. Part of life is being judged,it happens to us all not just a specific type of person, so since there’s no avoiding it you might as well do what makes you happy in the first place 😉

What others say shouldn’t matter anyway -don’t seek anyone’s approval, only seek happiness within yourself. The people right for you will accept&love you for you and the ones that don’t..well they don’t matter. Happiness within yourself rather then from others is where true contentment is. Be true to yourself and find your own path to happiness.
